Lorena Gaccione showed her marked musical skills from an early age and soon
began studying the piano. At the age of 10 she was successfully admitted to the “S.
Giacomantonio ”of Cosenza in the class of Maestro Antonio Consales, with whom
she obtained the Piano Diploma with full marks at a very young age. Decisive for her
artistic growth was her meeting with the pianist Cristiano Burato. She has been
awarded in several national and international piano competitions: -European
Competition of Musical Interpretation “Città di Acri”, -National Competition for
young musicians “Maggio Musicale-Città di Rossano”; -International Piano
Competition “Vincenzo Scaramuzza” of Crotone; – “Euterpe” International Music
Competition in Corato, -International Piano Performance Competition “Vincenzo
Scaramuzza” in Crotone; – twice at the “Lucio Stefano D’Agata” International Music
Competition in Acireale di Catania, the last of which received the 1st Absolute Prize
plus the Agorà Prize “for the beauty of touch and phrasing”, -Contest National Music
Competition “Luciano Luciani” of Cosenza, – International Competition “Napolinova
di Napoli”, – Music Competition “Schumann Prize” City of Cosenza, – International
Piano Competition “Vietri Sul Mare”, – National Competition Magna Grecia by
Gioiosa Ionica (overall winner of the competition and special prize Lillima Condemi),
-International Competition “Rosa Ponselle” City of Matera, -European Competition
of Musical Execution “Jacopo Napoli” – Cava dei Tirreni (Sa), – “Schumann Prize”
2018 city of Cosenza (absolute winner of the competition and recipient of the
Schumann Prize scholarship), -International Competition “Città di Mercato S.
Severino” of Salerno, -International Music Competition Gustav Mahler – Trebisacce
(overall winner of the competition), -Co National Music Course “Città di Garda”, –
Conero International Piano Competition (Recanati). In addition, in 2019 she won the
First Absolute International Piano Performance Prize “Magna Graecia” by Gioiosa
Ionica thanks to which she performed as a soloist with the orchestra at the Gioiosa
Ionica Auditorium and was the winner of the planned prize concerts from the
competition for 2021 in Italy and Armenia. In 2020 she also won the First Prize at the
London GrandPrize Virtuoso Competition thanks to which she will perform at the
Elgar Room of the Royal Albert Hall and won the second prize at the “Concours
Albert Roussel” in Sofia (Bulgaria), thanks to which she performed at the Earth and
Man Museum in Sofia. In 2021 she was also the winner of the first prize at the
Salzburg Grand Prize Vrtuoso International Competition, the First Prize at the
“Sounds of Music” competition in Oradea in Romania, the 2nd Prize at the Moscow
International Music competitionm, the second prize at the Nice International Music
competition, the 3rd Prize at the IMMC in Moscow and the 3rd Prize at the Danubia
Talents International Competition in Budapest.
Lorena Gaccione has an intense concert activity, performing in recitals in various
Italian and foreign musical institutions, concert reviews and international festivals
she attended piano masterclasses with M ° Antonio Consales, M ° Cristiano Burato,
from whom she is still followed, M ° Alexander Hintchev, M ° Aldo Ciccolini, Maestri
Vincenzo and Giacometta Marrone D’Alberti, M ° Balzani, M ° Maria Perrotta, M °
Roberto Cappello, M ° Ivan Donchev, M ° Antonio Pompa Baldi, M ° Stefano
Scarcella, M ° Fathlinda Thaci for chamber music.
